How To Organize Your Website Pages

Keeping your website pages well-organized makes it easier for visitors to find what they need and improves your site's SEO. You can do this by using the Page Parent option and setting the Page Order.

Using the Page Parent Option

The Page Parent option helps you organize your website pages in a clear and structured way. This makes it easier for visitors to navigate your site and improves your website’s visibility on search engines.

For example, if you have a Services page and want to add a Consulting page under it, you can set Services as the main (parent) page and Consulting as a sub (child) page. This creates a neat structure, and the URL will look like this:

example.com/services/consulting

Follow these steps to set a parent page:

Step 1: On your Lime Funnels dashboard, navigate to the Website section. Here, you'll see a list of all your pages.

Step 2: Click the dropdown arrow next to the page you want to organize.

Step 3: In the Settings tab, find the Page Parent option. Click the dropdown arrow. If no parent page is set, it will say "None." Select the name of the page you want to set as the parent.

Step 4: Once you've selected the parent page, click the Save Changes button

Organizing Pages with Page Order

The Page Order feature lets you control how your pages appear in menus or lists. Lower numbers appear first, while higher numbers come later.

For example:

  • Home (1)
  • About Us (2)
  • Services (3)
  • Consulting (4)

Follow these steps to set your page order:

Step 1: On your Lime Funnels dashboard and go to Website.

Here, you'll see a list of all your website pages.

Step 2: Click the dropdown arrow next to the page you want to reorder.

Step 3: In the Settings tab, look for the Page Order option

The number in the Page Order determines where the page appears in the menu list.

  • Setting the number to "0" makes the page appear first. If multiple pages have the same order number, they will be sorted by publication date or alphabetically.

  • Changing the value of any page to “1” moves it down the menu list,

placing it after any pages with the “0” value.

This feature allows you to organize your pages in the order you prefer.

Step 4: After making changes, click the Save Changes button to apply the new order.

How is this different from a submenu? In simple terms...

Parent Page vs. Child Page (Website Structure)
  • A Parent Page is like a big folder that holds related Child Pages underneath it.
  • Child Pages are part of the Parent Page but exist as separate pages.

📌 Example (Website Pages Structure)
  • Parent Page: "Our Services"
    • Child Page 1: "Web Design"
    • Child Page 2: "SEO Services"
    • Child Page 3: "Social Media Marketing"

Submenu (Navigation Menu)
  • A Submenu is just a visual way to display links in your website’s navigation.
  • It doesn’t change the URL structure like Parent/Child pages do.

📌 Example (Menu Structure)
  • Main Menu Item: "Our Services"
    • Submenu Item: "Web Design" (linked to the page)
    • Submenu Item: "SEO Services"
    • Submenu Item: "Social Media Marketing"
